built 656 days ago
There has been some research conducted which suggests that using Zyprexa may increase the likelihood of developing diabetes. As would be expected, similar research reports that those with family histories of diabetes are at an even greater risk of developing this disease. The actual extent to which Zyprexa increases such risks is still relatively unknown.
Diabetes – Zyprexa may increase the blood sugar level, causing or worsening diabetes in some users. The risk for diabetes in those who use Zyprexa is signifiantly higher if there is a family history of it.
This press release contains forward-looking statements about the potential of Zyprexa for maintenance treatment of bipolar disorder and reflects Lilly's current beliefs. There is no guarantee that the product will prove to be commercially successful. For further discussion of these and other risks and uncertainties, see Lilly's filings with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. Lilly undertakes no duty to update forward-looking statements.
