Zoroastrian fire temples were initially built during the early Achaemenian period. By the end of that dynasty the three types of fires, Atash Behram, Atash Adaran and Atash Dadgah, had a recognized place in Zoroastrian society. During the Parthian period 248 BCE to 224 CE the three great fires of Zoroastrianism, Adur Farnbag, Adur Gushnasp and Adur Burzen Mihr, were installed.

The delegates will meet with media, academics, Muslim religious leaders and representatives of minority Christian, Jewish and Zoroastrian communities. They will visit arts centers and non-governmental organizations, including women's and environmental groups. They will speak directly with former president Khatami and Dr. Khatari of the Society for Chemical Weapons Victims Support.
Faravahar, symbol of Zoroastrianism Parsism is the term used today among the believers in India, the largest Zoroastrian society of today. Modern Zoroastrianism counts about 150,000 believers in India, 60,000 in Iran, and perhaps 50,000 in the rest of the world.
