Zoloft can be the best choice for some kids and for some nursing moms. It has brought about many excellent results but it shouldn’t be taken lightly--it is quite a powerful medicine.

Zoloft may cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Zoloft with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.

Do not take Zoloft if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) during the last 2 weeks, such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), pimozide or tranylcypromine (Parnate). Serious, and sometimes fatal, reactions have occurred when these medicines have been used together.
