When golfer Zach Johnson entered the Masters Tournament in 2007 ranked number 56, even he didn't think he would take home the coveted green jacket. But cheered on by his wife, Kim, and his baby boy, the small-town boy from Iowa overcame the odds to reach his lifelong dream!

Zach Johnson and Phil Mickelson This was a nod to some of the chatter that had accompanied Johnson's unexpected Masters win. Throughout his career Johnson has been celebrated as a gritty overachiever, but in the wake of Augusta he was now being lumped with Rich Beem, Michael Campbell, Todd Hamilton and Shaun Micheel, all of whom won their first major championship in the 21st century and haven't won a thing since. The Johnsons-particularly Kim-had ... been miffed by SI columnist Rick Reilly, who said on Dan Patrick's ESPN radio show that he wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years Johnson were waiting tables at Olive Garden. A few more months in the spotlight and Johnson and his family will learn to shrug off this stuff, but they're not there yet. With an even-par final round at Hilton Head, Johnson didn't nab another victory, but his tie for sixth was a very solid way to back up his Masters performance.

According to the PGA website, Johnson won the final three regular-season events on Hooters Tour in 2001, "earning the nickname 'Back-to-Back-to-Back-Zach'"... Sam Snead (1954) is the only player besides Johnson and Burke to win the Masters with an over-par total. 2007 was Johnson's third trip to the Masters. He earned $1,305,000 for the win.

Johnson carded a 65 in his final round to finish at 15-under for the tournament. Imada had a birdie putt on 17th hole to go to 15-under, but he missed the putt after hearing the crowd roar at Johnson's birdie on 18. Imada was able to chip from in back of the green on the 18th for a tap-in-birdie and to force a playoff. Imada's tee shot on the 18th found the rough in the playoff and Johnson responded by putting his tee shot in the fairway. Imada felt like he had to go for the green from the rough and just came up short of the green into the pond. Johnson put his second shot on the green and took his two-putt birdie for the win.
