University Radio York (URY), the student radio station, is the oldest independent radio station in the United Kingdom, and winner of the Student Radio Awards Best Station Award 2005. Nouse, the oldest student newspaper on Campus, was established in 1964 and was 2005 NUS/Mirror Student paper of the year; its rival newspaper, Vision, was named Guardian Student Newspaper of the Year for three consecutive years between 2002 and 2004 - the only time this has occurred in the 27-year history of the prestigious awards. It ... won Best Small Budget Publication at the 2006 NUS/Mirror National Student Media Awards. There also exists student television station YSTV founded in 1967. The University of York Filmmaking Society is a student-run film-making group: since 1999 its members have made two feature films and many shorts, some of which have been shown at national film festivals.
In the context of the first two statements, this statement implies that the Brennan Report has found the full face ballot DREs which Sequoia is pitching to New York to be the best of the bunch. But this is the exact opposite of the truth – the report concludes that full face ballot DREs result in more lost votes than any other type of voting system – including ballot scanners, New York’s non-DRE alternative. That’s right; the report finds that full face DREs have significantly higher rates of lost votes rates than other electronic voting systems! And, as noted, New York requires full face ballots on any DREs used in the state. The only other available choice is precinct based ballot scanners, which the Brennan Report concludes result in fewer lost votes. But from the blather spewing from Sequoia’s spin machine you wouldn’t know that full face ballot DREs are the worst alternative available to New York.

There are currently eight colleges at the University of York. Every student and every member of staff is a member of a college. The colleges are all of equal status within the University; each one has its own constitution and the day to day running of the colleges is managed by an elected committee of staff and student members under the chairmanship of the Provost. There is a Junior Common Room in each college which is managed by the elected Junior Common Room Committee for students. The Senior Common Room is managed in the same way by elected representatives of the academic and administrative members in the college.
Since becoming the state’s 63rd Attorney General on January 1, 1999, Eliot Spitzer has advanced initiatives to make New York a national leader in investor protection, environmental stewardship, labor rights, personal privacy, public safety and criminal law enforcement. Spitzer’s investigations of conflicts of interest on Wall Street have been the catalyst for dramatic reform in the nation’s financial services industry. His prosecutions of sophisticated white collar crimes have resulted in some of the nation’s largest fraud recoveries. Spitzer brings considerable experience to the office. He was a clerk to US District Court Judge Robert W. Sweet; an associate at Paul Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton, and Garrison; and Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan from 1986-1992. He ... worked at the NY law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, and was a partner at Constantine & Partners.
