Yellowcard The last three years for Yellowcard have been a whirlwind to say the least. The Jacksonville, Florida upstarts signed with Capitol Records, released Ocean Avenue (which has since sold over 2.5 million copies) and raked up on the MTV's various networks, including the MTV2 Award in 2004. Sure there were the typical traps and temptations every young band can fall into and perhaps all of the attention gave members the Hollywood bug at some point, but after some time off from the road to process a new batch of material, these boys are back to business.
Yellowcard is a band from Jacksonville, Florida. While Yellowcard are generally considered an Pop Punk/Alternative rock band, their music features a unique contribution to the genre with the use of a violin. The follow up to their 2006 effort, Lights and Sounds, is due for release July 17th, 2007, titled Paper Walls.

Ryan Key and Pete Mosely moved to New York City to write the songs for their upcoming album. The rest of the band remained in Los Angeles. The band regrouped in LA in the spring and began pre-production for the follow up to Ocean Avenue in March. Recording and production was finished in September and advertising began for the album. The band had originally announced that the album was expected for August 2005, but production and other delays pushed the release date back several months.
Yellowcard performing live For a large part of 2005, Yellowcard worked on their next album, titled Lights and Sounds. The album was released on January 24 2006. Pete and Ryan moved to New York City in January 2005 and started writing the album while the rest of the band recuperated in California from 18 straight months of touring. The album is something of a concept album, with many songs based on the band's negative feelings towards Los Angeles. For the album, Yellowcard chose to fade their unique violin style in the background and settle for more of a rock feel. Before the release of Lights and Sounds, Ryan Key said that this ambitious album would probably alienate a large portion of their fan base, and that he was 100 percent OK with that.

Their current singer and was replaced by Ryan Key who convinced the band that they couldn't be successful in Florida, so they decided to move to Southern California. The new group released their debut album, One for the Kids (Lobster Records), in 2001, and followed up with The Underdog EP (Fueled by Ramen Records) in 2002 which were both well-received by fans. However, Yellowcard's real public reception came after signing with Capitol Records in 2003 and releasing Ocean Avenue.
