Yell Group plc reported earnings results for the six months ended September 30, 2007. For the period, the company reported net profit rose 44.2% to £83.8 million ( $174.4 million), as revenue grew 13.7% to £965.4 million. Excluding one-time costs and amortization, profit rose 7.3% to 114.7 million. The group announced the results matched its expectations, though the U.S. market for directories remains very competitive. The group said it expects results for the year to be in line with expectations.
