The New Year celebrations ended on the 15th of the First Moon with the Lantern Festival. On the evening of that day, people carried lanterns into the streets to take part in a great parade. Young men would highlight the parade with a dragon dance. The dragon was made of bamboo, silk, and paper, and might stretch for more than hundred feet in length. The bobbing and weaving of the dragon was an impressive sight, and formed a fitting finish to the New Year festival.

Year Zero (... known as Halo 24) is the fifth studio album from American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails. The album was produced by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, mixed by long-time collaborator Alan Moulder, and mastered by Brian Gardner. Year Zero is a concept album criticizing the United States government's policies as of 2007[2] and projecting a dystopian vision of its impact on the state of events in 2022. Reznor indicated that this required a completely different approach from his usual style of lyric writing.[3] Reznor also stated that the album ws "part of a bigger picture of a number of things [he was] working on".[4]

How did Chinese New Year come to be celebrated? According to an ancient legend, people were once tormented by a beast called a Nian - a ferocious creature with an extremely large mouth, capable of swallowing several people in a single bite. Relief from the Nian came only when an old man tricked the beast into disappearing. In reality, New Years festivities probably evolved from a desire to celebrate the end of winter and the fertility and rebirth that come with the spring, much like the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia. Today, New Years is about family reunions and wishing everyone good fortune in the coming year.

DETROIT, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2007 Automotive Industry Executive of the Year award will be presented to Jim Press, president of Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (TMA), at an invitation-only luncheon at the Detroit Athletic Club (DAC) on April 17th. This is the first time in the award's 43-year history that a Toyota executive is receiving the honor.
