Yasmine Amanda Bleeth (born June 14, 1968) is an American TV and film actress who was born in New York City. Yasmine, which is pronounced yes-MEEN, is the Arabian version of Jasmin, the name of a flower. As a child, Yasmine was frequently ridiculed for having this unusual name. Her nickname is Yaz or Yazmania.

Born in New York City on June, 14, 1968, Bleeth began her career in front of the cameras early when at age six she made her television debut in a Johnson & Johnson commercial. Featured prominently in Max Factor cosmetics ads, Bleeth was already a recognizable television ad-girl when she began attending high school at New York's United Nations International School.

Bleeth attended the United Nations International School in Manhattan, New York, and she received a bilingual (English and French) education [1]. She was very popular with boys. At one time when she was 14 years old, she had to be away from school for a few months for her acting career. Nevertheless, Total Film magazine quotes her as saying, "When I was a girl I used to have to force boys to kiss me. My toughest friend had to hold them down."[2]
