As Salibi points out in Secrets of the Bible People, it doesn't take much imagination to realise that Yahweh's mountain home was in fact a volcano, summit engulfed in smoke. Later we find Yahweh as a 'devouring fire' on top of the mountain, and some weeks later, after Moses had returned from his second stint on the mountain, he warns his people that whoever touches the mountain it shall stone to death, be it beast or man. Three days later we find the mountain quaking. There were thunder and lightning. The mountain was all in smoke. Yahweh had descended on it in fire, and smoke rose as the smoke of a furnace. A better description of a volcano is hard to imagine.

Yahweh was born Hulon Mitchell Jr. in Oklahoma. The eldest of 15 children, he became a preacher in Oklahoma, Weintraub said. He married and had four children but divorced before moving to Miami in the late 1970s, she said.

The House of Yahweh issued a news release in 2006-AUG stating that nuclear war will begin on SEP-12. The war will start around the Euphrates River. Their leader, Yisrayl Hawkins, says that the countdown to the nuclear war began with the signing of the Oslo accords on 1993-SEP-13. He interprets the Book of Daniel as stating that this is a seven year agreement but would take 14 years to be fully carried out. He interprets Revelation as implying that nuclear war will begin a year, a month and a day prior to the end of the Oslo agreement. Hawkings has posted a video clip on YouTube.com that explains his predictions.

At Yahweh's direction, many murders and attempted murders in the Miami area occurred. One of the most violent members of the group, Robert Rozier ("Rozier")[4], testified at trial that an ultra- secret group called the "Brotherhood" was established within the cult. This group was to perform any task that Yahweh directed, including murder. Yahweh conducted separate meetings for Brotherhood members, which were to be kept secret under penalty of death. Among those present at Brotherhood meetings were Rozier and defendants Grant, Pace, Beasley, Ingraham, Maurice, James, Yahweh, and sometimes Gaines. To become a member of the Brotherhood, one had to kill a white person and bring proof of the kill to Yahweh in the form of a head, an ear, or some other body part.

This rendering of Yahweh has been used in both Christian and Jewish translations. It was introduced by the reformer John Calvin (1509-1564) and was subsequently used in the French Bible of Geneva (1588), by the author Matthew Arnold (1822-1888), and in the English Bible of James Moffatt (1870-1944). The first Jewish author to use it was the German philosopher and Bible translator Moses Mendelssohn (1729-1786). Later it found its way into Jewish vernacular Bibles in French (1899) and German (the translation made under the direction of the Jewish scholar Leopold Zunz [1794-1886]).
