Yahoo Japan Corp. announced earnings results for the nine months ended December 2007. For the period, the company reported a group net profit of ¥46,443 million, up 10.6%from a year earlier, and an operating profit of ¥91,045 million, up 18.7%. Revenue in the first three quarters of fiscal 2007 totaled ¥187,802 million, up 21.2%. For the year ending March 31, 2008, net profit is projected at ¥64,843-66,493 million, up from ¥57,963 million in fiscal 2006, and operating profit is estimated at ¥122,795-125,595 million, up from ¥106,232 million. Group revenue is expected to total ¥260,602-264,402 million, up from ¥212,552 million. The company plans to pay an annual dividend of between ¥107 yen and ¥110 yen per share, up from ¥96 in fiscal 2006.

Yahoo Japan and iTunes Japan have entered into a deal that will give users one-click access from Yahoo Japan music-related sites to the iTunes music store, where they can preview and download music and videos. The deal, which is billed as a first, was announced today (June 14) and takes effect immediately.
