Xpilot

[T]hen in another corner of the Xpilot universe, Ben Jackson is working on his XPilot/MOO hybrid. Using this Xpilot server, it is possible to teach the bots to move between any two points on the map. So, for example, a bot could respond to your radar blip and fly directly towards where you are, as a human player would.

Xpilot is based on games very familiar to many, such as Gravitar. Originally it was ment to be very simple space combat game for X environment. It had to be relatively fast on the hardware that existed and operation over network was desirable, if not neccessity. How else could you show your friend who says and what. After many versions xpilot has become very versatile game, in the matter of fact, many different games in one. In addition to the traditional massacre of your friends it now has for example a team play possibility.

[A]rrogance about Blood's aside (and you have to expect a bit of that if you're a regular player of this game) Xpilot does provide more server options than you can count, and new ones are added in practically every release. It can be fun to experiment with these and perhaps even try your hand at map-making.
