Xavier Malisse (born July 19 1980) is a Belgian tennis player known mostly for his enormous right-handed forehand, great power and bad temper. Born in Kortrijk, Belgium, Malisse is considered the biggest Belgian tennis talent on the ATP tour. Malisse was at one time romantically linked to former world number one female tennis player Jennifer Capriati.

Hij draagt de bijnaam The X-Man. Malisse staat anno februari 2007 op de 31e plaats. Zijn hoogst behaalde plaats is de 19e (op 12 augustus 2002).

With a 5-1 advantage, Malisse showed Spadea, and hundreds of his hometown fans, just how far he’d go to win. Down 30-0, the X-Man showed superhuman speed in retrieving a backhand that Spadea knocked off at the net with a swinging backhand volley down-the-line. Seemingly off the court, Malisse sprinted to the ball and shot up a high lob. Spadea’s overhead again spun Malisse wide on his forehand-side, and after another get by the Belgian, Spadea looked to have hit the perfect drop shot — landing mere millimeters over the net. Malisse sprinted to the ball and flicked a forehand attempt that Spadea hit past the X-Man. But not even a yellow tennis ball could outrun Malisse, who altered his grip to reach the near-winner.

Malisse krijgt vaak het etiket van "slechte jongen" opgeplakt omwille van zijn soms opvliegende karakter. Hij is al meerdere malen terechtgewezen voor het vernielen van rackets of het beledigen van lijnrechters. Bovendien wordt hem soms een gebrek aan ijver verweten. Malisse was ooit ook het vriendje van Jennifer Capriati. Daarna was hij vijf maanden samen met ex-Miss België Joke Van de Velde en nu is hij samen met de schone blonde Barbara Steeman uit Lokeren.
