In THQ’s new grappler for the X-Box, WWE Wrestlemania 21, the player once again gets to enter the squared circle and throw down with the baddest wrestlers on the planet. By now everyone knows that wrestling is a pretty popular genre, and there have been countless versions of these games released over the years. Of all the publishers releasing these games, THQ has been the most consistent in putting out good wrestling titles. In recent years though, the ratio of good vs. bad wrestling games from THQ has started to even out, or possibly start to lean towards more mediocre titles than good. Is Wrestlemania 21 going to change this trend? Read on to find out.

Overall Evaluation: Wrestlemania 21 is one of the various wrestling games for the X box. Every few years, a new WWF wrestling game is made, and the funny thing is, it is almost exactly the same as the previous version, except for a newer roster of wrestlers and improved graphics and match choices. Since this is the latest version, it ... has the best graphics as compared to the previous WWF Raw 1 and 2. the entrance music of each character is also intact and is just as good as the actual version on television. The wrestlers' movement and idiosyncrasies are also intact; in fact, if you squint your eyes, you will almost swear that you are watching an actual broadcast. The create a wrestler system is also back, but still not as deep as the Smackdown series for the Play Station 2.
WWE Wrestlemania 21 for the Microsoft Xbox Without a doubt, THQ’s Xbox debut of WWE WrestleMania 21 is one of the most gorgeous games of its type. Wrestler models look brilliant, and the thrill of the WWE comes to life with great entrances. at least it does offline. In addition, many of the WWE’s (formerly WWF) legends are at your disposal. Unfortunately, the action itself completely sucks.

If you've played any recent wrestling game you'll be fully aware of what WWE WrestleMania 21 has to offer. Exhibition, Career and online play are all here. The fight variations are the standard stuff and include the usual Bra & Panty mode, Battle Royal, Royal Rumble, Tag, Handicap, Fatal 4-Way to name but a few. The Career mode once again allows you to create a wrestler and then develop him, RPG style, as he progresses through his career.

Wrestlemania 21 is a long game which should keep fans entertained for some time especially if you want to unlock everything by purchasing stuff at the WWE store with point’s gained by winning matches in career mode. Even though some matches can be over literally in minutes there are so many of them that it’s going to take a while to build the funds especially considering the cost of some of the items. The inclusion of Xbox Live play that actually works with this version of the game (previous discs had to be recalled) means players can duke it out against online adversaries and even create their own championship titles. For those without then multiplayer on one TV is highly possible and enjoyable despite some dreadful camera angles at times.
Overall Evaluation: WWE Wrestlemania 21 is the perfect example of how a wrestling game should be. Lots of wrestlers to choose from, great graphics and fun gameplay. You really feel like you are in the ring with your opponent. This is the best wrestling game in years and a must buy for any WWE wrestling fan.
