WWE Raw Live of July 29, 2002 presented violence at the rate of 204 examples per hour (187 in the 55 minutes of the analysis) [Prov. 3:31-32]. It ... presented sexual imagery at the rate of 22.9 per hour [James 1:12 - 15]. Foul language was 25.1 per hour [Prov. 17:20, Col. 3:8]. In April 2002, about a month before the name change, WWE decided to create two separate rosters, one on RAW, the other on SmackDown! due to the overabundance of talent left over from the Invasion storyline (which involved talent from the absorbed ECW and WCW rosters interacting in WWF storylines). This is known as the WWE Brand Extension. Following the Brand Extension, a yearly Draft Lottery was instituted to exchange members of each roster and generally refresh the lineups.

RAW is sometimes taped alongside SmackDown!, in what is called a "WWE Supershow". The November 14, 2005 episode was one such "Supershow" - this was taped on the day Eddie Guerrero died in his Minneapolis hotel room. Because of this, both RAW and SmackDown! events were turned into tribute shows for Guerrero.
