Wwe Raw: Games

WWE Raw looks great for the most part, but there are a few parts that lack polish. Practically all of the wrestler models in the game look great--especially the top-tiered wrestlers like The Rock, Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Kurt Angle. Even some of the wrestlers that didn't look so great last year have been improved quite a bit, like Triple H and Chris Benoit. Unfortunately, some of the newer models, like Rey Mysterio and Goldberg, aren't quite as impressive, and generally seem a bit off-kilter when compared to the rest of the models. Overall, the game animates very well, and nearly all the different moves and taunts look like they should. Transition animations are still somewhat lacking in certain areas... and periodically, you'll see some pretty unpleasant movement glitches.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 will let players take the fight into their own hands with the debut of Superstar Fighting Styles. The game features eight unique styles, each having its own strategy and exclusive attributes. A brand new Struggle Submission System will give players intuitive and natural control over their WWE Superstars by using the game’s popular analog controls. Realism and strategy are at the forefront, as players will now control the amount of pressure they apply to their opponents.

WWE Raw 2 is, for certain, a much deeper game than last year's title, and, unlike last year, Raw 2 has all of the match types and modes you'd expect from a modern day WWE title. In exhibition mode, you can choose from normal, hardcore, street fight, ladder, table, TLC, cage, hell in a cell, and battle royal matches. King of the ring, tournament, and royal rumble options are ... available as separate selections on the opening game menu. All of these matches are pretty much comparable to their SmackDown! and Wrestlemania counterparts, except for a couple of slight but noteworthy differences. The biggest difference is in the hell in a cell match, which doesn't really seem to play as well as in other WWE games.

WWE RAW features the hottest WWE Superstars, complete with their own signature moves. In addition, for the first time on wireless devices, fans can ... play as a WWE Diva, such as Stacy Keibler(R), Victoria(TM) or Trish Stratus(R). Each Superstar has their own abilities based on five performance categories that enable the player to match move for move with their favorite WWE Superstars. These categories are: strength, submission, endurance, technique and speed. The game is scheduled to launch worldwide on all carriers and is expected to be featured on both Cingular and Sprint/Nextel.

Triple H returned to RAW on October 3, 2005 as part of WWE Homecoming to a tremendous ovation, even though at the time he took his absence, he was a heel. He teamed up with Ric Flair (who had turned face during Triple H's absence) against Chris Masters and Carlito. Triple H and Flair won, but the Game then turned on Flair with his sledgehammer. Triple H then began a feud with Flair.
