Wonder Woman: Princess Diana
built 202 days ago
The Wonder Woman doll no longer had the painted on outfit, but came with a completely removable cloth outfit with straps. She ... came with 2 new Diana Prince outfits. The one that was always included is a blue robe that tied in the front and a pair of shoes. This is the one photographed in the 1979 Mego Toy Fair Catalog. The other outfit, which varied, was usually Cher's salmon colored halter dress that snapped behind the neck (probably because Mego made so many of them). But sometimes included was Farrah's white one-piece halter jumpsuit, which also snapped behind the neck.

Shortly before Infinite Crisis, Wonder Woman blinded herself in order to save millions of lives during her fight with the Gorgon Medousa; her sight was later restored by Athena as a gift - binding her own eyesight to her champion, Diana. Since then, she has possessed the sight of Athena, or the gift of increased insight. Consequently, Diana can detect others' emotions, is now fully immune to Doctor Psycho's illusions and ... mind control as shown during the conclusion of the Sacrifice storyline when Maxwell Lord tried to telepathically control her but was unable to do so.
Wonder Woman worshipping Greek gods in the temple Wonder Woman could be said to be a "pagan" in the word's contemporary religious sense, although this does not appear to be a word she regularly applies to herself. Religious ritual and worship of the Greek gods is explicitly a part of the Amazon culture where Princess Diana was raised. While in her native Themyscira, Diana daily went to the Olympian temple and gave thanks before statues of the Olympian gods. She has ... met these gods in person, and sometimes battled the less benevolent among them (such as Ares, the god of War, and Zeus's son, the demigod Heracles). Given Diana's firsthand experience with the Olympian gods, it would make little sense for her to not believe in these Olympian gods. One could conclude that Diana has little choice but to be a Greco-Roman classical religionist.

Wonder Woman had learned of what happened to her Amazon friends. Her mother was missing, some were arrested and injured, two were unaccounted for and one had been killed. There was ... news of an unidentified Amazon who had also been killed. When Vanessa came in with news of her mother missing, Diana convinced the police to let her go and investigate about this unidentified Amazon. Diana is unable to identify her, but she believes that she was killed by Cheetah because of the claw marks on her. Commissioner James Gordon has her arrested again but breaks free, concerned about her friends.

Wonder Woman's supporting characters were altered as well. In addition to the introduction of the Kapatelises, Steve Trevor was changed into an Air Force officer considerably older than Diana... sidestepping the traditional romance between the two. Instead, Trevor became involved with Etta Candy, a mature military officer possessing a realistic physique. The Greek war god Ares, and the witch Circe eventually became two of Diana's greatest enemies. Her rogue's list included the Cheetah, a woman who could transform into a ferocious feline-humanoid creature; and the Silver Swan, a once deformed radiation victim granted beauty, wings, and deafening sonic powers through genetic engineering.
Wonder Woman was then approached by a man named Asquith Randolph ... known as the White Magician. He presented Diana with a mission that would take her into space where she would need to save an astronaut. It was a trap however, and once Wonder Woman made it on board, he detonated a bomb on there and the ship was flying through space. She was able to get it under control but they were drifting into unknown space. After two weeks, she was saved, only to be made slaves. They imprisioned her to discover that the prision was entirely populated by females.
