Winona Ryder and Mickey Rourke have joined the cast of The Informers, an adaptation of the Bret East Ellis novel that is being directed by Gregor Jordan. Winona Ryder and Mickey Rourke join a cast that was already ridiculously talented, joining the list with Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Brandon Routh, Ashley Olsen, Jon Foster, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Austin Nichols. The Informers will be financed by Senator Entertainment.

In December 2001, Ryder was arrested for allegedly shoplifting items of clothing valued at over $4500 as well as possessing pharmaceutical drugs without a prescription. Her lawyer denied all the allegations, claiming the actress had receipts for the store items and a prescription for the painkillers found on her. Ryder was freed after posting $20,000 bail. In January, she was charged with four felony counts including theft, burglary, vandalism and possession of a controlled substance. At her February arraignment, the actress entered a plea of not guilty.

Transcripts made public after the trial disclosed that Ryder had been suspected of shoplifting from two other high-end department stores in the past, but that no charges had been filed. Prosecutors were not allowed to present those allegations during the trial.

It looks like Winona Ryder is back to her old tricks. In what FemaleFirst is calling an "Alleged Payment Oversight," it seems that Ms. Ryder "forgot" to pay for some items she was still wearing.
