You need to stock the wine cellar with an initial investment of at least 24 or more bottles of wine. Begin with a budget and initially buy the major varietals. For whites: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Gewürztraminer. For reds: Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. Don’t forget about the dry rosé or some sparkling wine.

A wine cellar is a storage room for wine in bottles or barrels, or more rarely in carboys, amphorae or plastic containers. Wine cellars are usually located completely underground, and often have direct contact to the surrounding soil via a gap in the foundations. A small wine cellar (generally one capable of storing less than 500 bottles of wine) is often referred to as a "wine closet".
