Illustration shows how a double-pane window with low-e coating keeps hot air inside by reflecting heat back into the room. If your home has single-pane windows, as almost half of U.S. homes do, consider replacing them. New doublepane windows with high-performance glass (e.g., low-e or spectrally selective) are available on the market. In colder climates, select windows that are gas filled with low emissivity (low-e) coatings on the glass to reduce heat loss. In warmer climates, select windows with spectrally selective coatings to reduce heat gain. If you are building a new home, you can offset some of the cost of installing more efficient windows because doing so allows you to buy smaller, less expensive heating and cooling equipment.

Please note that EXPGUI is always under development and gets less testing by the author in Windows than in other platforms. Please report problems, including improvements on these instructions to Brian Toby. Otherwise, Windows-specific issues are unlikely to be addressed or repaired.

Replacement windows are a common home remodeling project. Vinyl replacement windows are popular, because they are maintenance-free. How to install replacement windows is a common question, since people want to try to save money on the job.
The official D "reference" compiler, DMD, is based on the same back-end as the Digital Mars C/C++ compiler for Windows. There is ... a binary version available for Linux, but DMD is not re-distributable and the back-end source code is not available.
During phase one of the project, Republic and MBDC will take a look at what the cradle-to-cradle philosophy means in the context of the building of windows. Part of this will be talking to suppliers, and looking at all of the elements that go into Republic's production capacity -- where those materials come from, how they are used and what becomes of them when the window has reached the end of its useful life.
