In some cases when Windows 2000 starts for the first time with a product that has TV-out, Windows incorrectly detects the presence of a TV. Please go to the display properties and change your monitor type from television to your monitor. Once the monitor type is set correctly, you will be able to set modes higher than 800x600. If you do have a TV connected, you will not be able to set the mode higher than 800x600.
