When explaining how to use Window XP Recovery Console you should be aware that limited access is made available to the NTFS file system, FAT and FAT 32 volumes all without starting the Windows Graphical user Interface (GUI). Through the Recovery Console you will gain both access and use of the operating system files and folders, meaning that you can use, copy, rename or replace them. You will ... be able to choose the devices included in the start-up process the next time you start your computer. The Console allows provides you access to a repair file system boot sector and/or the Master Boot Record. Finally and in the event that you might believe it best to bypass a certain section of a hard drive it will be possible to create partitions that help you do so.

If Window XP's Messenger is not being any use to you, you can just get rid of it. And you can do it with ease. First, you have to open your %system% folder. The %system% is a variable, it can be 'C:\Windows' or 'E:\Winzip', you get the point. Now, open the INF folder and locate the file sysoc.inf. Make sure you make a back up of the said file before proceeding. Open the file after securing a backup, hold down 'Ctrl' key and press 'F'.

A website called thehotfix.com is offering a package dubbed the "Window XP SP3 Preview Pack" for download, even though no such animal has been released by Microsoft. Mike Brannigan, a senior consultant at Microsoft waded into a discussion on Google Groups to warn Windows users that this file is not an official release, and could very well potentially contain malicious software, or at the least untested code. The real Windows XP SP3 has been unofficially slated for release after Windows Vista arrives, making it unlikely that it will come any sooner than the end of 2006. This has created a perceived hole in XP's support schedule that enterprising users are trying to fill.
