Window Treatments: Curtains
built 158 days ago
Sheer soft window treatments are very popular. Sheers are used to accent an open, airy feeling found in most of today's newer home designs. They can be layered and combined with other printed and/or plain sheers to create a fresh look. Sheers provide the maximum amount of light to enter when the curtains are drawn, but the least amount of privacy. In order to get the best of both worlds—privacy and maximum sunlight— combine sheers with a hard window treatment such as a roller blind. Sheers come in cotton, silk, lace, and bronze, pewter and gold metallic.

Try to keep the lines of your sidelight window treatments running along the sidelight windows themselves. To add some height to a short entryway, try to use vertical lines in your project, whether you are using long narrow vertical blinds or you are using long decorative curtains. When working with curtains for your sidelight window treatments, you should keep in mind that the color choices should match that of your entryway. If your entryway is not painted, sidelight window treatments are a terrific way to add some color to an otherwise boring area. You can add bright lime green curtains for a tropical look, or you can make your curtains baby-blue for a clean, summery look.

Choosing the right window treatments for your windows can be hard but by using this moot point should give you a clue about your window treatments. Short drapes usually look better in tiny windows or in attic rooms. Full-length curtains should be used in normal sized windows. The length of them is up to your personal taste but they should barely reach the floor or fold down onto it.
