The Wikipedia content is being used by several dozen other sites, some of which achieving higher Google Pageranks than Wikipedia itself. Most of these cannot be called forks, as they simply download and present the unmodified data. However, in addition to the fork of the Spanish version mentioned above, there is one genuine fork of Wikipedia: it's called Wikinfo (formerly internet-encyclopedia) and run by Fred Bauder. Wikinfo allows biased treatments and does not follow the NPOV policy. Then there's Uncyclopedia, a wiki-based parody on Wikipedia.

Wikipedia receives between 10,000 and 35,000 page requests per second, depending on time of day.[49] Page requests are first passed to a front-end layer of Squid caching servers. Requests that cannot be served from the Squid cache are sent to load-balancing servers running the Linux Virtual Server software, which in turn pass the request to one of the Apache web servers for page rendering from the database. The web servers deliver pages as requested, performing page rendering for all the language editions of Wikipedia. To increase speed further, rendered pages for anonymous users are cached in a distributed memory cache until invalidated, allowing page rendering to be skipped entirely for most common page accesses. Two larger clusters in the Netherlands and Korea now handle much of Wikipedia's traffic load.
Historically, Wikipedia has been steadily gaining status since its inception. As of 2007, according to Alexa’s top 500 websites, by number of visitors, Wikipedia has become the tenth most visited website world-wide.[28]

The freenode network has "chat rooms" dedicated to Wikipedia 24-hours per day, in which Wikipedians can engage in real-time discussions with each other. Many Wikipedians have chatting open in one window and hop back and forth between it and other windows in which they are working on Wikipedia. The chat rooms dedicated to Wikipedia are listed below.
Correctly citing Wikipedia as a bad example, many insiders are decrying its uniquely destructive and abusive culture. It has been referred to as a "vile mailing list," and the "Nazipedia" because some believe there is an anti-Semitic bias (though they continue to contribute). There are ... those who believe there is a pro-Zionist/pro-Israel, anti-Arab/anti-Muslim bias, while yet others see a Eurocentric bias that targets non-Western/European peoples and cultures, as well as blacks and other peoples of color.
Wikiseek is being released as a Beta and will be updated and improved continuously, based on user feedback and new pages from Wikipedia. The service is expected to have significantly less Search Engine Optimization (SEO) spam because only "authoritative" pages, approved by Wikipedia editors, will be included. As Wikipedia grows and more links are added, the service will continue to increase in value over time as a resource for researchers, students and anyone who frequently uses Wikipedia.
