- Mario Party -- Nintendo Wii
After debuting on the Nintendo 64 in 1999, the Mario Party franchise hits the Wii with this eighth installment. This time, the setting is a circus and all your favorite Mario characters show up to party, including the legendary Luigi and the token, who-brought-the-jerk guest Wario. At least Mario will know who to blame when he finds that upper decker in his toilet. - Modchips -- Nintendo Wii
In a very short amount of time four modchips were announced for the Nintendo's seventh generation foray, the Wii: The Wiinja (announced on January 26, 2007), the CycloWiz (January 29, 2007), the WiiKey (February 2, 2007) and Wiip. All four are 'very easy' to install (each requiring only 5-6 wires) and each are so far mainly for playing copies of original Wii and GameCube games media, some boasting compatibility with GameCube homebrew. The Wiip is the first open-source mod-chip project for the Wii. - Metroid Prime -- Nintendo Wii
Nintendo gave the development of Metroid Prime to the U.S. based Retro Studios in part due to the fact that the Metroid series, while being incredibly popular in the United States, has never sold as well in Japan. more - The Game -- Wii Remote
Cooking Mama Cook Off - This innovative game for Wii puts you in the kitchen where you learn recipes and cooking techniques. It was pretty fun on DS and now they've got a Wii version with 55 new recipes. An interesting thing that they did was add an international element. There are 10 countries, each with a champion and 2 dishes. So you can compete against the little Spanish girl to make paella and that unlocks the paella recipe. It's really a bunch of clever cooking based mini games. - Ghost Squad -- Wii Remotes
The Ghost Squad is a Special Forces unit established in strict secrecy by the U.N. to combat terrorism and carry out special highly-classified missions without leaving a trace. As an elite member of the Ghost Squad, players will complete dangerous missions such as eliminating terrorist groups, releasing hostages, deactivating bombs, and even rescuing the US President when terrorists hijack Air Force One! Using the Wii Remote, players will utilize revolutionary selectable weapons including a high powered rifle, sub machine and shot gun, or even engage in hand-to-hand combat. - Ssx Blur -- Nintendo Wii
As with most properties that make their way to Wii, the biggest change to the series with SSX Blur is its control scheme. SSX Blur uses both the Wii remote and the nunchuk, with the nicely tidy concept of mapping all ground control to the nunchuk and all in-air control to the remote. Steering your character is done by tilting the nunchuk in the appropriate direction, with sharper carving achieved by then tilting the nunchuk's analog stick along with the nunchuk itself. To prime your character for a jump, hold down A and then release to go airborne. Once in the air, control switches to the remote. Rather than stringing together a sequence of buttons, you create tricks by actually tilting or moving the remote in ways that roughly correspond to the tricks. - House of the Dead -- Wii Zapper
III included II as an unlockable, wouldn't it be in their interests to unlock the original House of the Dead like once you've beaten the first two? That would be brilliant. Either that or launch a special Sega Saturn ported version on Virtual Console with modifications for the Wii controls. is not going to be on this console, solely because its graphically impossible! - Alien Syndrome -- Wiis
Whether it ships with less than stellar graphics or not, $30 for Alien Syndrome on the Wii is a deal few Sega Nerds can afford to pass up. Right now, Buy.com is offering Sega’s remake for only $29 shipped with a July 31 release date. - Mario Kart -- Mario Kart Wii
Mario Kart Wii's coming out on April 10 in Japan, you say? When, then, can Europe expect it? September, perhaps? Maybe April 2009? Nope. Nintendo Europe have confirmed the game will arrive on the continent on April 11, 2008. - Sonic and the Secret Rings -- Wii Remote
The controls are fairly simple; Sonic always runs forward at full speed so you tilt the Wii remote left and right to steer him. Pressing the ‘1’ button will act as his brakes, while pressing and holding ‘2’ will perform jumps. It would’ve been nice for the braking and jumping to be a little more intuitive as it does feel out of place to be pressing buttons amidst all the action. Sonic will automatically lock-on to target enemies when airborne, and by quickly flicking the remote forward he will speed straight at his foes. Lastly, he is capable of grinding on straight edges, which will allow you to fly through some of the hairier sections in a level.
