In the classic Wiccan Mythos there are various myths connected to each of the eight sabbats. At the Winter Solstice the new sun is born. At Imbolc the sun god reaches maturity and is purified as he prepares to encounter the Goddess. The Spring Equinox marks the return of the Goddess from the Underworld. At Beltane the God and Goddess meet to begin their courtship. The Summer Solstice marks their wedding and finds the Goddess pregnant from their union at Beltane.

One of the most well known Wiccan symbols, the Triple Goddess is depicted in several different ways. One example is a circle with an inverted crescent moon on each side; another consists of multiple crescent moons intertwined with one another. Used as a symbol of Wiccan recognition, the Triple Goddess Symbol signifies the changes of life, birth and death as well as the three aspects of the moon. Believing that as the moon moves through its waxing, waning and full cycle, life corresponds. As the Goddess is the Wiccan symbol for the feminine polarity of the universe, the Triple Goddess Symbol signifies the maiden, motherhood and crone stages of womanhood.

Wiccan author Trish Telesco has reason to celebrate today! Trish is the author of a number of books on Paganism and Wicca, including the Kitchen Witch's Cookbook, Magick for the Wild Woman, and A Victorian Grimoire. She considers herself a kitchen witch, and while she originally self-dedicated into Wicca, she later was initiated into the Strega tradition in Italy. Wiccan ... plays a major role in the side-story Civil War: Young Avengers/Runaways, which apparently takes place between the 2nd and 3rd issues of the main Civil War narrative. The Runaways, the rebellious children of supervillains known as "The Pride," try to stay out of the conflict, but they barely manage to escape from the government forces seeking their capture. Hearing of this development in the news, the Young Avengers decide to help the Runaways. Captain America vetoes the plan. Therefore, they go anyway. Wiccan uses a combination location-and-teleportation spell - basically "I will find the Pride's Kids."

WiCoM sponsors group rituals for all eight Wiccan sabbats, as well as for other special events and occasions. Many of these rituals are open to the public or invited guests who are not members. Certain events are open only to the membership. Each event is overseen by volunteers selected by the ceremonial leaders of the organization, the May Queen and Green Man, who are chosen each year by lottery at Beltaine.
