Westminster College is a private, liberal arts institution in Fulton, Missouri, USA. It was founded by Presbyterians in 1849 as Fulton College and assumed the present name in 1851. The Winston Churchill Memorial and Library are located on the campus. The Churchill Memorial is a national historic site and includes the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury. The church, designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1667, was rebuilt on the campus to commemorate Sir Winston Churchill, who made his famous "Iron Curtain" speech at Westminster College in 1946. As a bookend to history, Mikhail Gorbachev gave a speech in 1992, declaring the end of the Cold War.

The Westminster College men’s basketball team lost 93-79 at Thiel Wednesday night in Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) play. Sophomore forward Ryne Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) led the Titans (3-12, 1-4 PAC) with 22 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals for his seventh double-double of the season. Senior guard Craig Hannon (New Castle, Pa./Union) ... scored 21 points and registered six steals. Other double-figure scorers for the Titans included junior guard David Richards (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) with 13 points and a game-high seven assists, while senior guard/forward Chauncey Whitlow (Youngstown, Ohio/Woodrow Wilson) bucketed 10 points. Joe Herrmann led the Tomcats (6-7, 2-3 PAC) with 22 points on 10-14 shooting as one of five Thiel players to score in double digits. Thiel shot an impressive 60.3 percent (35-58) from the field compared to the Titans at 43.8 percent (28-64).

Service of Remembrance and Celebration in honor of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held Sunday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. in Westminster College’s Wallace Memorial Chapel. The worship service is open to the public. Special guest speaker is Wendell G. Freeland, a member of Westminster’s board of trustees and an attorney in Allegheny County. He was the first president of the Neighborhood Legal Services Association, chair of the Federal Section of the bar, and a member of the House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. His community activities include service as president of the Urban League of Pittsburgh, senior vice president of the National Urban League, chairman of the board of governors of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, and member of the board of trustees of the University of Pittsburgh. Westminster College faculty and staff participating in the service include the Rev. Jeannette Hubbard, director of the Office of Diversity Services; the Rev. James Mohr, College chaplain; Dr. Sherri Pataki, assistant professor of psychology; and Dr. David Swerdlow, professor of English.
