West Germany: West Germans
built 277 days ago
When West Germany miraculously won the soccer 1954 World Cup, their footwear was supplied by adidas. They introduced a technological breakthrough, namely studs with screws. When the weather was good and the pitch was hard, the shoes were equipped with short studs, when it rained, longer studs were screwed on the bottom of the shoes. As the finals against high favourites Hungary was played in heavy rain, this gave the German players a firm hold on the slippery pitch.

The beads are green transparent plastic with opaque darker green plastic petals on in inner layer surrounding the rhinestone. Seed beads in between the beads. Measures 1-1/8" in diameter and have a goldtone over brass setting. These are in good condition.
In overall sales, West Germany's peaceful invasion force —some 500 German businessmen operate out of Cairo alone —has yet to catch up with Britain and the U.S. But in three lucrative markets—Iran, Syria and Greece—West Germany outsells any other nation. In Egypt and Israel the West Germans are now No. 2 in sales.

Russia is rebuilding what would be Iran's first nuclear reactor, the construction of which was begun by West Germany but interrupted during the 1979 Islamic revolution. Damage caused to the facility in Bushehr, a coastal town in southern Iran, during the 1980-88 war with Iraq has led to the postponement of its inauguration from 2003 to August 2006.

[One] result of the unrest in the 1960s was the founding of the Red Army Faction (RAF) which was active from 1968, carrying out a succession of terrorist attacks in West Germany during the 1970s. Even in the 1990s attacks were still being committed under the name "RAF". The last action took place in 1993 and the group announced it was giving up its activities in 1998.
