Werewolves: Werewolf
built 264 days ago
Werewolves are men who change into wolf form. But transformation is not unknown among women and children. As a werewolf you behave as a wolf and do what the body of a wolf does. Yet at the same time you retain your human power of reasoning to do what a man does. So if you wish you can combine killing sheep and cattle with breaking into houses, terrifying the occupants and stealing their beer. But you must watch out because if you come to harm as a werewolf you carry that injury back with you on returning to human form; if a sheep farmer blasts you in the leg with his shot-gun you will be lame on your return to humanity.
Werewolves of Miller's Hollow is a game that takes place in a small village which is haunted by werewolves. There is ... a Moderator player who controls the flow of the game. The game alternates between night and day phases. At night, the Werewolves secretly choose a Villager to kill. During the day, the Villager who was killed is revealed and is out of the game. The remaining Villagers (normal and special villagers alike) then vote on the player they suspect is a Werewolf helped (or hindered) by the clues the special characters add to the general deliberation.
* "Vampires, Werewolves, Ghosts and Zombies" -- Chills and chuckles fill James K. Polk Middle Ghoul, where being a vampire really bites for Ned. The pasty pupil must pass the "B.A.T.'s" and turn into a bat to avoid summer school, but his frightful efforts only lead to brief incarnations as a bunny and goat. Meanwhile, half-werewolf/half scaredy-cat Cookie flees from zombie bully Billy while waiting for a full moon to totally transform him. And see- through green ghost Moze wanders the halls - and walks through walls - searching for a kindred spirit.
werewolf Involuntary werewolves were those whose actions had inadvertently caused a horrible transformation. Persons born on Christmas Eve were often thought to be werewolves. In Sicily, a child conceived during a new moon was thought sure to grow up to be a werewolf. German folk tales told of a mountain brook whose waters turned humans into werewolves.

Belief in werewolves was widespread in Europe during the Middle Ages. Any infant born with body hair, a strange birthmark, or a caul (a membrane covering the head) was thought to be a potential werewolf. It was believed that a person could become a werewolf voluntarily, generally by embracing black magic or worshiping the devil. The bite of a werewolf could ... turn someone into a werewolf.
These are not the werewolves you've seen in movies like "The Howling." They do not drool and eat human flesh. Werewolves are peaceful and have lived in harmony with the Native Americas for thousands of years. You wouldn't be able to tell a werewolf from a human if you met one on the street. There are no pentagrams on their palms, they have 2 eyebrows, etc., they look just like humans when not in their wolf forms. The werewolves are not creatures of the devil or black magic.
