Wendy Barrie-Wilson (born in 1954 in Loveland, Ohio) is an American stage actress who has performed in more than 90 plays on Broadway and around the world. She is from a well-known American acting family, including great Aunt and Uncle, Elizabeth Risdon and Uncle Brandon Evans, who were members of the Theatre Guild and worked with such theatre figures as Alfred Lunt and Lyn Fontanne, Helen Hayes, and G.B. Shaw among others.
Jane (Wendy Barrie) has been hired to do publicity and meets engineer Frank Lawson (Weldon Heyburn) and auto tester Terry Martin (James Stewart) after he overturns a car. Terry shows Jane the modern auto factory, and Frank takes her into the lab, where Terry and Gadget (Ted Healy) are not allowed to go. Gadget flirts with receptionist Fanny Lane (Patricia Wilder). Terry is working on a new carburetor. Gadget tampers with Frank's car so that Jane can go with Terry; but she declines to attend a party with him. Frank tells Jo Sanderson (Una Merkel) he hopes to see her at the party, so he can go with Jane, who says she is busy. At the party Terry sees Jane arrive with Frank.

Wendy Barrie starts 2005 with a new hub for www.scottishfoodguide.com. A crusader for fresh local produce, Wendy has developed Scottish Farm Shops to highlight specialist businesses that retail on their farms. This compliments her now well-established guide to the best places to eat.
This second entry in RKO Radio's "Falcon" series begins with Gay Lawrence (George Sanders), aka the Falcon, promising to give up his private-eye activities for the sake of fiancee Helen Reed (Wendy Barrie). This resolves lasts for about eight minutes, whereupon Lawrence tackles the case of a missing scientist named Waldo Sampson (Alec Craig), the inventor of a synthetic-diamond process. Kidnapped by Sampson's abductors, Lawrence manages to escape, only to be kidnapped again and later accused of murder. The resolution of the plot hinges on the old mistaken-identity device (one of the principal characters has an identical twin, and that's all that can be said without giving the game away). Carryovers from the first "Falcon" film include Allen Jenkins as Lawrence's dimwitted sidekick Goldie and character actor Hans Conried, here cast as a snotty hotel night clerk. A Date with the Falcon was unofficially remade as The Falcon's Adventure, the final entry in the RKO series.

Barrie's literary star continued to rise, and he was awarded a baronetcy in 1913 in recognition of his status as one of the best loved authors in Britiain. George started university that year, where he remained on close terms with his guardian, but Jack, who was in the Navy now, and more independent than his brothers, resented the dominant role that Barrie had taken in their lives. The following year, Barrie took all of the boys except Jack to Scotland for a fishing holiday (Jack was on a ship in the North Atlantic), and it was there that they learned the news that England was now at war with Germany. George and Peter, like so many young men, immediately signed up to defend their country, and by December George's battalion was posted to the Western Front. With
"The background is that, like Wendy, Barrie's own mother had to bring up her siblings when she was still a teenager. Later, when her favourite son, David, died in a skating accident, she confined herself to bed in grief."
