In what seems to be becoming a pattern, four Wells Fargo servers have been reported as missing. The servers were actually located at a vendor’s facility, the Atlanta office of Regulus Integrated Solutions. It is believed that sensitive information, including Social Security numbers and customer account numbers, of thousands of mortgage and student loan customers was stored in the stolen hardware. The incident actually occurred in mid-October, and beginning on October 25th the company began warning customers whose data was stored on the missing computers, recommending that they notify the three major credit agencies of possible data theft. Additionally, the company is offering affected users 12 months free use of its credit monitoring service. This is the third time in a year that Wells Fargo computers containing customers’ personal data have been stolen, though Wells Fargo says it has received no reports of that information being misused (perhaps due to encryption of the info on the computers). - The Wells -- Drilling

George Orson Welles (May 6, 1915 – October 10, 1985) was an Academy Award-winning American director, writer, actor and producer for film, stage, radio and television. Welles first gained wide notoriety for his October 30, 1938 radio broadcast of H. G. Wells' The War of the Worlds. Adapted to sound like a contemporary news broadcast, it caused a number of listeners to panic. In the mid-1930s, his New York theatre adaptations of an all-black voodoo Macbeth and a contemporary allegorical Julius Caesar became legendary. Welles was ... an accomplished magician, starring in troop variety spectacles in the war years. During this period he became a serious political activist and commentator through journalism, radio and public appearances closely associated with Franklin D. Roosevelt. - Vector Space -- Documents

On July 13, 1862, President Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) consulted Secretaries William H. Seward and Gideon Welles on the particulars of the Emancipation Proclamation. Both men were speechless. Seward anticipated anarchy in the South and perhaps foreign intervention. Seeing that Welles was even more confused, Lincoln let the matter rest, but on July 22 he presented this draft proclamation to the full cabinet. Reaction was mixed. Cabinet secretaries Stanton and Chase advocated the document's immediate release, but Postmaster General Montgomery Blair foresaw defeat in the coming fall elections. - Microsoft Office 2000 -- Documents
