CAS RW Wheel Weighing Scales are self-contained, high-capacity digital wheel load scales designed to maximize legal payloads with concern for violations and reduction of maintenance due to overload stress on equipment. The 12 inch wide platform accomodates single tire (outside tire in dual wheel configuration) while the RW-L large 24 inch platform accomodates dual wheels and oversized tires.

The Alliance Truck Scale features a modular Survivor EZ Steel Deck from Rice Lake and its ATS-2 unattended scale controller, which prompts the driver through every step of the weighing process. Incorporating up to 12 load cells, this scale permits the setting of parameters for load weight validation and employs iQUBE self-diagnostics. These continuously monitor all load cells and compensate for poor load distribution and faulty cells.

The original form of weighing scale consisted of a beam with a fulcrum at its center. For highest accuracy the fulcrum would consist of a sharp V-shaped pivot seated in a shallower V-shaped bearing. To determine the mass of the object, a combination of reference weights was hung on one end of the beam while the object of unknown mass was hung on the other end. See balance and steelyard. For high precision work the center beam balance is still one of the most accurate technologies available, and is commonly used for calibrating test weights.
