1. Essay

3. Tim Berners-Lee -- World Wide Web
   Tim Berners-Lee is the man who invented the World Wide Web, the “killer app” that propelled the popularity of the Internet. The idea, first proposed in 1989 while working for CERN, was for a globally interconnected system of hypertext documents that would allow for collaboration and the sharing of ideas. The WWW was made available on the Internet in the summer of 1991.
4. Nostradamus -- Quatrains
   Nostradamus was a French physician and astrologer who dabbled in prophecy. His volume Centuries, a big set of vague and often cataclysmic predictions set in quatrains, made quite a sensation in his day. (Charles IX even made him court physician.) A few people continue to believe that Nostradamus really could predict events of the future, from the rise of Adolf Hitler to the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center in September of 2001. In truth, there is no real proof that Nostradamus could accurately predict the future, and many of the circulating "predictions" attributed to Nostradamus were not even written by him at all.
5. Faulkner, William -- Center
   Located on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University, the Center for Faulkner Studies supports educational, scholarly and public service projects related to William Faulkner, including a Visiting Japanese Scholar program and the Teaching Faulkner newsletter. The Center's renowned Brodsky Collection includes thousands of manuscript pages, letters and photographs.

8. 1940 -- Us Census
   A new shunt-type generator, with full voltage and current regulation, was used on the 1940 models. Generator output was increased from 28 to 35 amperes. A 90-amp 6-volt battery was standard. An entirely new transmission incorporating a blocker type of synchronizer to prevent gear clashing was used in both models. The transmission cover was moved to the side of the case and an extent ion at the rear of the transmission provided the use of the '39's short drive shaft despite the increased wheelbase of the '40 models. The transmission gears were helical cut for quieter operation.
9. Colorado History -- State
   The human history of Colorado extends back more than 13,000 years. The region that is today the State of Colorado was first inhabited by Native Americans. The Lindenmeier Site in Larimer County, Colorado, is a Folsom culture archaeological site with artifacts dating from approximately 11200 BCE to 3000 BCE.
10. Rhetorical Criticism -- Studies
    Sara Hayden’s research is in the area of rhetorical criticism and theory. In her work, she integrates interests in the social construction of gender, feminist theory, and feminist movements. She has published and presented essays exploring both contemporary and historical rhetoric surrounding women's health, reproduction, sexuality education, and maternity in the United States.
