The capabilities of mobile Web browsers are now expanding rapidly in an effort to display sites in a manner similar to a PC. This includes complete audio and video, dynamic content, support for advanced technologies such as Ajax, and faster page load times. Skyfire, a free mobile browser unveiled earlier this week, offers all of this and some. Full-feature PC versions of popular sites like YouTube, Facebook, and MySpace are supported. "For too long consumers have been promised the 'real Web' on their phone, only to be disappointed by slow rendering, error messages, no Flash support, watered down WAP pages or second-rate mobile versions of their favorite site," said Skyfire CEO Nitin Bhandari. "Skyfire has remedied those ills at a speed not seen before on the mobile platform."

A design goal of webfwlog is web browser independence, and care has been taken to provide good rendering for webfwlog by a wide variety of browsers. Two things which are required are cookie support and support for tables, which includes most modern browsers. Amaya is a Web client that acts both as a browser and as an authoring tool. It has been designed with the primary purpose of being a testbed for experimenting and demonstrating new specifications and extensions of Web protocols and standards. Its main features include WYSIWYG editing for HTML documents including MathML elements, access to remote documents and publishing on HTTP servers, support and editing for Cascading Style Sheets (CCS).
