Washington Post: Stories
built 190 days ago
[T]here was a huge (which is to say, tiny!) dust-up over a Washington Post story that ran on November 29. The story was about Barack HUSSEIN Obama and his "Muslim tie rumors" which are totally just that and so this journalism professor was like "Okay this story sucks!" (It kinda did! Mostly due to bad editing.) Then Romenesko linked to it. Everyone got upset and defended the reporter! Times reporter Ad Nags wrote a really nice note. But WaPo executive editor Len Downie wrote a really bitchy letter!

The Washington Post article gives a brief history of LLLT and brings the story up to date, including news of the successful use of the MicroLight ML830® by the New England Patriots prior to their recent Super Bowl victory. “A registered nurse successfully treated more than 10 Patriot players for tendon and muscle injuries, according to the article,” reported Mr. Barbour.
In 1980, the Post published a dramatic story called 'Jimmy's World', describing the life of an eight-year-old heroin addict in Washington, for which reporter Janet Cooke won acclaim and a Pulitzer Prize. Subsequent investigation... revealed the story to be a fabrication. The Pulitzer Prize was returned.
Did you know that many of the Washington Post's online stories include a little box showing blogs that are linking to that story? It looks like they have been since this fall. It's one more way that Technorati is rocking the blogosphere. Why didn't anyone else think of doing this? Or would anybody else be able to?
