Washington Mutual is promoting its [N]ew free outgoing wire transfers to LA's Latino community. WaMu says it is "making the process of wiring money more affordable by introducing the new WaMu Free Checking account, which offers free foreign and domestic outgoing wire transfers."
[T]oday, Washington Mutual launched a major mass advertising campaign in Chicago, including hundreds of television spots, thousands of radio ads, hundreds of print placements and more than a thousand out of home units. The campaign will reach all areas of Chicagoland via mass market, local and ethnic media -- including specific campaigns for Chicago's African-American and Hispanic communities. The campaign, scheduled to run through November, promotes WaMu's Free Checking and surcharge-free ATMs. The campaign ... features a fleet of London Cabs offering customers and non-customers "free rides to the home of Free Checking."

Washington Mutual has announced it is introducing a [N]ew free checking product that "combines an unprecedented bundle of features that all add up to convenience and value never before seen in any checking account." The new WaMu Free Checking account features include free checks for life, free ATM cash withdrawals, and a Gold Debit MasterCard with rewards of $0.03 per purchase transaction (either PIN or signature-based).
