Warm Spring Medical Center’s good neighbor involvement ... helped improve the quality of life for area residents. The hospital is a member of the Meriwether County Interagency Council/Family Connection, which fosters collaboration between community groups and helps prevent duplication of services. As a member of the council, the hospital participated in many joint projects and grant requests to bring useful resources into the community. One typical program, in partnership with the March of Dimes, provided a perinatal van to transport pregnant women and mothers with newborn infants. Another is the hospital’s alliance with the county school system to provide a school nurse, healthcare education and services to children in the community. Playground equipment was provided by the hospital to encourage safe play environments.

Warm Springs is located at the intersection of US-6 between Tonopah and Ely and Hwy 375. This is the northern end of the Extraterrestrial Highway, about 59 miles northwest of Rachel. A natural hot spring provides abundant water, supporting an oasis of green in the otherwise very dry desert. There is a handful of abandoned buildings near the intersection.
