War on Drugs

The War on Drugs is hypocritical because only certain drugs are targeted. Other drugs, such as alcohol, caffeine and tobacco are legal (in most parts of the world), yet cause many more problems than currently illegal drugs. Even aspirin is, in many ways, more dangerous than currently illegal drugs.

The War on Drugs serves to condition military personnel to accept and implement orders to police and oppress the domestic citizenry. It conditions domestic law enforcement personnel to accept and implement orders to harass, persecute, and brutalize the domestic citizenry on senseless, arbitrary grounds.

Other important major benefactors of the "War on Terror" are the war industrialists/defense contractors. George Bush, Jr.'s father is/was one of the main players in one of the largest investment firms profiting from defense companies in the World: the Carlyle Group. This is an example of nepotism at it's finest, as the Bush family stands to make a tremendous amount of money from his involvement with the Carlyle Corporation and the awarding of defense contracts. The Bin Ladens and the Bushes have been doing business together for many years. How interesting.
The case ... raises issues of class and race in how the war on drugs is being prosecuted. Lamarre and Singleton are both white, educated men. Honaker is a blue-collar white man from rural Bedford County; and Hadden, who lives in Roanoke, is a black man from Detroit.

It's no secret that the dollar is on a downward spiral. Its value is dropping, and the Fed isn't doing a whole lot to change that. As a result, a number of countries are considering a shift away from the dollar to preserve their assets.

This week's meeting in Washington of drug czars from throughout the Americas represents merely the latest charade in the ongoing war on drugs. Year after year, decade after decade, governments announce their latest drug control strategies, sign the latest bilateral and multilateral agreements and proclaim that the light at the end of the tunnel is brighter than ever.
