built 657 days ago
Huston married Lesley Black in 1937 and returned to Hollywood to work as a scriptwriter for Warner Brothers on the film Jezebel. In 1939, loaned out to Goldwyn-United Artists, he worked (though without being credited) on the script for Wuthering Heights. He ... earned his first Academy Award nomination for his screenplay for Dr. Erhlich's Magic Bullet.

In 2007, Huston led a letter campaign organized by the US Campaign for Burma and Human Rights Action Center. The letter, signed by over 25 other Hollywood profiles, was addressed to the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and urged him to "personally intervene" to secure the release of Nobel Peace Prize recipient Aung San Suu Kyi of Burma[2]

D espite these successes Walter did not turn his back totally on Broadway. Unlike a lot of actors who came to Hollywood and never returned to their roots in the theatre. Walter during most of his career split his time between the screen and the stage.
