The birthplace of Walter Hagen is a private, peaceful creekside retreat in the beautiful Allens Creek Valley. This 1,800-square-foot farmhouse rests on six wooded acres; oak, black walnut, and hawthorn trees surround the home. The creek flows past the house, becoming the focal point of the beautiful view. Visitors hear the peaceful sound of the creek's running water from within the house. Watching the numerous birds and other wildlife from this comfortable home, one can easily forget that it is less than ten minutes away from downtown Rochester, and just minutes from some of the country's finest courses.
Walter Hagen was golf's first extrovert character, flamboyant in everything he did. He had a chauffeur-driven limousine, enjoyed partying well into the early hours - even during tournaments - and he always wore the most fashionable clothes. He was a showman in every sense.
The Walter Hagen® Eleven Cart Bag has an exclusive fully molded 14-way top with club locks for protection. You can carry your clubs around with ease thanks to the comfortable foam stuffed carry strap. Store your mobile phone and shades during the round in an unique pocket with magnetic closure. Even house drinks in an oversized insulated cooler pocket.
Walter Hagen (1892-1969), often referred to by golf fans as "Sir Walter" or "The Haig," was the first superstar of American golf. Hagen earned his fame by winning tournaments with spectacular recovery shots and unmatched putting ability, skills that made up for his unpredictable tee shots. He is remembered as a master gamesman with an uncanny ability to remain relaxed and make the game of golf fun.
