Walt Disney World Resort is owned and operated by the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts segment of The Walt Disney Company. There are four theme parks and two water parks there. In addition, there is downtown Disney with souvenir shops, restaurants, sports activities, and a hotel.

Commissioner Winn ... announced today that Walt Disney World Resort will host the award ceremony of the Just Read, Florida! reading in the arts contest on Dec. 9. Winners from schools around the state will come to Disney-MGM Studios, be among the first to enjoy the "Journey Into Narnia: Creating The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" attraction as well as a special screening of the film.

Christmas decorations at the Walt Disney World Resort usually begin going up around the first of November. The decorations are gradually added at night and are completed by Thanksgiving weekend. The decorations start coming down around January 1st.

Walt Disney World Resort retired its original font and symbol during its 25th anniversary celebration in 1996-97. The old "D" symbol still can be found in many places... including the front car of each monorail, manhole covers, select merchandise items and flags flown at several sites across the property.
