May 23, 2003 -- The Walt Disney World Resort's animal care team welcomed the first African elephant calf to be born at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park last night. The 296-pound bundle of joy was born at 10:05 p.m. to its 22-year-old mother Moyo. The first-time mother was in labor on and off for four hours before giving birth to the calf, which was conceived through artificial insemination on August 25, 2001. This is the fourth surviving African elephant calf in North America to have resulted from an artificial insemination procedure.

Parking at Walt Disney World is different depending on what you are doing. Parking at Downtown Disney is free. Parking at any of the on-property resorts is free for guests and anybody with appropriate business at the hotel (eating at one of the restaurants, for example). Parking is ... free at the two water park, the Wide World of Sports complex and the golf courses. Each of the four theme parks has it own parking, which is free for guests of the on-property resorts and annual passholders but otherwise costs $11 for regular cars, $12 for RVs, and $15 for busses and tractor trailers. (Parking prices last increased on September 1, 2007.) Except for Magic Kingdom, the theme park parking is right in front of the gates.
