Deerfield-based Walgreens, "The Pharmacy America Trusts," has given $100,000 to the "Gay Games," signing on as a major sponsor of the July 2006 athletic event in Chicago that uses sport to celebrate homosexuality. Sadly, Walgreens is doing this in the name of fighting HIV--the very byproduct of unhealthy homosexual practices.

Walgreens has been ordered to pay $31.3 million to the estate of Leonard Kulisek, 79. He suffered a slow and painful death after a drug-abusing pharmacist in Schaumburg, Ill., gave him diabetes medication instead of the gout medicine that had been prescribed.

The Trust has sent letters to all its health plan members notifying them of Walgreens’ expected departure from the pharmacy network. To avoid any disruption, Trust health plan members are encouraged to transfer their prescriptions to a retail pharmacy that continues to participate in its network.
