Wal-Mart: Wal-Marts
built 655 days ago
The more you shop at wal-mart the more you look like this. Wal-Mart takes great pride in its high standards when it comes to anchoring a toy to its box. These astonishingly intricate arrangements are unprecedented in the toy packaging industry. Wal-Mart uses 100 tons of iron ore a year in twisty ties alone and every component of every toy must be attached by a minimum of twenty twisty ties twisted twenty times (say that real fast ten times).
Wal-Mart loves to be seen donating money to local charities, especially around the holidays. These donations, while perhaps beneficial in their own small way, don’t even begin to make up for the amount of resources and taxpayer dollars Wal-Mart drains out of local economies. For Wal-Mart, these donations are nothing but some cheap PR.
Pew ... found that Wal-Mart's overall favorabilities were among the lowest among all corporations surveyed. In fact, Wal-Mart’s favorables rank among the lowest one-third, and are only higher than Pfizer, Exxon/Mobil, and Halliburton.
On 2006-MAR-03, officials at Wal-Mart's head office announced that they will stock EC in all of its pharmacies starting MAR-30. 21 Covenant News reported this development under the title: "Wal-Mart to kill babies nationwide." 22
Even though Wal-Mart announced a while ago it wants to double the fuel efficiency of its heavy-duty truck fleet in 10 yeas, the company does have some cleaning up to do. In late 2005, Wal-Mart settled a lawsuit with the EPA for clean air violations by taking part in an anti-idling campaign at its 4,000 locations across the country.
[L]ast week a Wal-Mart spokesman said the company won't build on the 28-acre site at Rea and Tom Short roads. They're trying to sell the property for $8 million. It's all part of a nationwide pullback, the spokesman said.
