The metropolitan Waco unemployment rate dropped slightly from 4.8 percent in January to 4.7 percent in February and the jobless rate for the Temple-Killeen-Fort Hood area remained unchanged at 5.6 percent last month, the Texas Workforce Commission says. Other areas such as Abilene increased to 4.4 percent from 4.3 percent in January. Longview dropped to 4.7 percent from 4.8 in January while Tyler dropped to 4.5 percent from 4.6 percent.

As part of his research-perhaps the hardest part-he steeped himself for six months in the Bible and in the theological lore of the Adventist movement, which had been going on for a century and a half before David Koresh came along. He read tracts and listened to tapes of Koresh, and the result is that more than a sixth of the book's pages are devoted to explaining the conceptual world in which the Davidians lived-which the Feds and their "expert" advisers never did penetrate.
