1. Election -- Voters
   It all started the day before the Nov. 7 election when now-congressman-elect William Lacy Clay, son of the incumbent Democrat William Clay, announced polls would be open late on election day. Then, Tuesday evening, Democrats went to St. Louis Circuit Court Judge Evelyn Baker, alleging that up to 33,000 registered voters had been improperly removed from voter registration rolls. As a result, voters faced significant delays attempting to prove they were eligible to vote. In St. Louis, registered voters who do not participate in the previous year's election are automatically removed from rolls if they do not respond to notices sent by the election board.
2. Voting System -- Voters
   In the Diebold system, a voter begins the voting process by inserting a smartcard into the voting terminal. Upon checking that the card is “active,” the voting terminal collects the user’s vote and then deactivates the user’s card (the deactivation actually occurs by changing the card’s type, which is stored as an 8-bit byte on the card, from VOTER_CARD (0x01) to CANCELED_CARD (0x08)). Since an adversary can make perfectly valid smartcards, the adversary could bring a stack of active cards to the voting booth. Doing so gives the adversary the ability to vote multiple times. More simply, instead of bringing multiple cards to the voting booth, the adversary could program a smartcard to ignore the voting terminal’s deactivation command. Such an adversary could use one card to vote multiple times.
3. Registration -- Registration Statement
   In accordance with the Registration Rights Agreement, holders of the Registrable Securities that wish to use the Registration Statement to sell Registrable Securities must prepare and deliver to ProLogis a Selling Securityholder Notice and Questionnaire on or before June 20, 2007. Holders of Registrable Securities, who have already delivered a questionnaire to ProLogis should still deliver the questionnaire they receive to make sure they are included in the Registration Statement. Copies of the questionnaire have been mailed to holders of Notes. The entry list is also downloadable as a tab delimited file that can be imported into Excel or Access. Many office programs support importing tab delimited files so that you can manipulate the file as you please.
5. State of California -- California Secretary
   The Secretary of State believes Californians should be on-line, not in line for government services. With customer services and user-friendliness in mind, the Business Programs Division is automating its functions, which include filing and maintaining more than 2 million records for most types of business entities operating in California.
6. Louisiana -- Plaquemines Parish
   Louisiana statutes require you to be registered 30 days prior to an election to be eligible to vote in that particular election. Refer to the Schedule of Elections for registration deadlines. You can register in person at your parish Registrar of Voters office, or you can submit an application by mail to your Registrar of Voters office. 9. Diebold -- Diebold Election Systems
   MCKINNEY, Texas, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Diebold Election Systems has completed design of a paper-based, voter-verifiable printer module that has been submitted for federal system qualification. The module enables a voter to print out, review and verify candidate selections made on a Diebold touch screen voting station.

    Nigeria’ s population is devided almost evenly between Muslims and Christians. Analysts say the recent upsurge of sectarian violence in the predominantly Muslim north, followed the introduction of the Islamic sharia penal code despite protests from non-Muslims.
