Vomiting occurs frequently, up to 10 or more times per hour. Episodes last from a few hours up to several days. People afflicted with CVS are usually well and normal between episodes.

Vomiting is ... considered as common if and if it is of small quantity and is with less frequency. The moment it contains large amount of the stomach content and it is increased in the frequency (such as twice or thrice in half an hour), it requires immediate medical attention.
When there has been no vomiting for 1 hour, give 1 fl oz of a clear liquid every 20 minutes for 1 hour. Be sure to watch your child carefully for dehydration. Increase the volume of clear liquids that you give by 3 fl oz an hour for each hour that your child does not vomit. For example, give your child:

Sleep does seem to help but sometimes it's hours before the vomiting tapers off enough to allow Jeremy to sleep. He did have one incidence just a few weeks ago when he felt like an episode was coming on in the morning, went to sleep, slept most of the day, and did NOT ever vomit. HURRAY!!!!!!!!
