The Volvo V40 was actually introduced in the market together with the S40 and the V50 as Volvo’s entry level luxury cars and as compact executive models. The S in the nomenclature stands for sedan and the V stands for wagon. Therefore, the Volvo V40 is actually a wagon. These specific models from the Volvo brand were introduced and offered in two generations. The first generation was offered in 1995 and the second was first released in 2004. The V40 uses the brand’s 1.9 liter, four-cylinder turbo-charged engine which can generate up to 160 horsepower and ultimately run smoothly and quietly.
