Volkswagen New Beetle: Cars
built 606 days ago
The Volkswagen New Beetle Turbo S is a terrible car for hauling sheets of plywood back from Home Depot or taking a family of five and their gear on a cross-country camping trip. Of course the same could be said of a Mazda Miata, Porsche Boxster, Corvette or dozens of other cars that have a high fun quotient and little practicality. The Turbo S, in contrast, is high on fun but ... has its practical attributes.

The Volkswagen New Beetle was the cute car that started the retro-futurist design craze, which is still going strong. It was a modernized version of the legendary VW Beetle and struck a chord with consumers who had grown tired of standard conservative car designs and had fond memories of the "Bugs" from their youth.

The 2007 Volkswagen New Beetle doesn't compete well with other subcompact cars when it comes to functionality. All reviews say the rear seat is only comfortable for kids, Cargo space is lacking, particularly on the Beetle convertible. The car is fun to drive, but not sporty. Reliability has only been average, and fuel economy is low compared to other subcompacts like the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris.
The Triple White New Beetle convertible features a unique Campanella white exterior, a white interior, and white convertible roof boot. The Triple White New Beetle convertible takes its color palette from the original Super Beetle convertible of the late 70s. This modern day rendition includes 17-inch Oktopus alloy wheels, a three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel, white leatherette seats and center armrest. Also included are black carpeting, floor mats and door panels along with Sirius Satellite Radio. Another distinctive feature of the Triple White New Beetle convertible is the special front seat headrests ingrained with the New Beetle convertible icon.
The Volkswagen New Beetle is a front-wheel drive car based off of the MK4 generation Golf/Jetta platform. Four passengers can be seated in this unmistakably classic vehicle, now available in two trim levels: S and SE. It is powered by a 150 hp 2.5-liter inline-five cylinder that is mated to a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic with manual gear selection. Safety features include front and side-impact airbags, antilock brakes, tire pressure monitoring system, and daytime running lights.

The Design of the new Beetle is one of a kind. No other car of the compact class causes similar emotions. The 2004 model is revalued with new equipment details. And made safer: Combined side head airbags in addition to the front airbags optimise the protection in side impact accidents.
