Vladimir Dubov: Mikhail Brudno
built 161 days ago
Allegations on Khodorkovsky centre on the activities of Menatep, an investment vehicle through which Khodorkovsky and his partners - Vasily Shakhnovsky, Leonid Nevzlin, Mikhail Brudno and Vladimir Dubov - controlled Yukos. Shakhnovsky has previously been convicted of tax evasion, for which he received a one year suspended sentence, but acquitted of forging documents. He had already voluntarily paid $1.8m in unpaid taxes and associated penalties. Nevzlin, Brudno and Dubov have all fled Russia in anticipation of arrest. Another Khodorkovsky associate, Platon Lebedev, is being tried alongside him.

Deputy Prosecutor-General Yury Biryukov has confirmed that international arrest warrants have been issued for three key Yukos shareholders – Leonid Nevzlin, Vladimir Dubov and Mikhail Brudno. Interfax reports that the three are charged with tax evasion and other crimes. Biryukov said seven managers of enterprises that Yukos used to make fake oil sales and ... evade taxes have also been put on the international wanted list.

Dubov, who will turn 47 on Monday, and Brudno, 45, were major shareholders in Yukos along with Khodorkovsky, each holding about 7 percent of the firm, making them billionaires as well. When prosecutors targeted Khodorkovsky, Dubov and Brudno fled to Israel, where they obtained dual citizenship.
The three oil executives living in Israel - Leonid Nevzlin, Mikhail Brudno and Vladimir Dubov - are former partners of Khodorkovsky, and all are wanted by Russia on fraud charges. The three men, all of whom appeared on the Forbes list of the world's billionaires in 2004, are now directors of Group Menatep, a holding company that owns 60 percent of what remains of the dismantled Yukos empire.
